ANNUAL RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR WILL OPEN ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 29, THROUGH THE ASCENDER PARENTPORTAL
Beginning Wednesday, July 29th, please take a few minutes to complete your child's annual registration no later than Friday, August 21st, 2026. Completing registration early helps our campuses finalize class schedules, transportation, meal services, emergency contacts, and other important information so your student is ready for a successful first day on Monday, August 24th.
NOT RETURNING TO PAISD IN 2026-2027?
If your child was enrolled in PAISD at the end of May 2026, but is not returning to PAISD for the 2026-2027 school year, we cannot officially withdraw your child from our Ascender system until the first day of school. However, we would greatly appreciate a heads up as we work on scheduling and services for the 2026-2027 school year. If your child is not returning, would you please contact the campus office to let us know? You can call or email (contact info at the end of this message).
RESIDENCY ROUNDUP
As part of annual registration, all returning students must submit proof of residency before the first day of school.
Texas public schools are required to verify that students reside within the district they attend. In this context, residency means the place where a student and parent or guardian actually live and intend to remain. It is more than simply a mailing address or property ownership or an address used for documentation.
To complete your student's residency verification, please submit one current document showing your physical address within the Port Aransas ISD attendance zone. Acceptable documents include:
Electric, water, or gas utility bill
Mortgage statement
Property tax statement
Lease agreement from the property owner listed on the tax roll (the lease must include the parent/guardian's name and the student's name)
Proof of residency may be:
Uploaded directly through the ASCENDER ParentPortal during registration
Emailed to your campus registrar
Delivered in person to your campus registrar
*Please note that if your child does not reside within the PAISD boundaries, then he/she will be withdrawn from PAISD unless an approved out-of-district transfer application is on file. Please visit Transfer Information for more information and to access the application.
READY FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ON AUGUST 24, 2026
Completing both your student's annual registration and residency verification no later than Friday, August 21st will help avoid enrollment delays and ensure your child is ready to begin school on the first day.
