Jim & Judy Cole Performing Arts Center

Port Aransas ISD’s planned new performing arts facility will be named after the two most veteran music teachers in the school district’s history. It will be called the Jim and Judy Cole Performing Arts Center, the Port Aransas ISD Board of Trustees decided in a unanimous vote in the March board meeting.

Port Aransas voters in May last year approved bond propositions totaling $37.9 million for a wide variety of improvements at the school district, including construction of the performing arts center. It will be in a 32,000-square-foot building between Brundrett Middle School and Port Aransas High School.

The structure will house an 800-seat auditorium, a band hall, a theater classroom, dressing rooms and an area for costume storage. A central kitchen for all three PAISD campuses also will occupy the building..
